patricia overton
a creative writer and artist.
My expertise includes Creative Writing, illustration, and Freelance Journalism/Reporting. I worked for Rhino Linings as a PR Specialist (a global leader in spray-on truck bed liners) and created and wrote their Rhino Reporter, a biweekly newsletter. I've also been a writer for the Scripps Ranch News and a Grant Writer with credentials from UCSD. I have a bachelor's degree in Public Relations (PR) and a minor in Journalism and Communications from the University of Idaho.
A compelling blend of PR and journalism, mixed with various writing styles and communication expertise, forms a unique ability and skill, making me a beneficial applicant in any related field. My passion for writing began as a child but gained momentum after I became a mother and found inspiration in the complexities and beauty of everyday life.
My expertise also stretches to art; I use mixed media to create my artwork and illustrations. I was also an Art Advisor for the prestigious Linearis Art Institute, where I organized silent auctions and galleries of lithographs made by some of the greatest artists in the world. Artists included Picasso, Monet, Andy Warhol, and more. I also taught art to children at Ellen Browning Scripps Elementary. When it comes to art, writing, and PR, look no further for someone who can think outside the box, granting me a rare yet notable vision.
